Study Reveals Scary Results on Falling Asleep At the Wheel

least once in the past month while driving. The number is likely higher given the fact that most people probably don’t realize when they do fall asleep behind the wheel because they may only nod off for a second or two. However, even a second of nodding off behind the wheel can have tragic consequences when you consider that a car can travel nearly 100 feet in one second if its traveling at 60mph. The study found that this behavior was more common in men, people ages 25-34 and in a bizarre finding, in people from Texas.

Statistics on deadly traffic crashes involving drowsy drivers range from a low of 3% to a high of 33% or a third of all fatal car accidents.
